Tearfund Netherlands is a Christian developmental and emergency response organization. We alleviate poverty around the world by ‘Doing Justice Together’ with supporters, churches, Christian non-governmental organizations, and local communities.

We believe poverty is rooted in broken relationships: with God, with ourselves, with others, and with creation. These broken relationships often lead to injustice and prevent people from reaching their full potential. This is why churches together with our local NGO partners, play a central role in our work. We collaborate with and strengthen local organizations equipping them where needed to help restore relationships and bring about lasting, holistic change. Through our extensive network of local and international partners, we are also well positioned to provide rapid and effective humanitarian assistance. This enables us to respond to both natural and human-made crises across the majority world through locally led action, complemented by international NGO support where needed. Our work is funded through partnerships with the Dutch government, the European Union, foundations, companies, churches, and a loyal and growing community of private supporters.

Tearfund Netherlands is headquartered in Utrecht and has around 50 employees. The annual budget in 2027 will be ca. €23 million, the majority of which will be spent on humanitarian aid, development and peacebuilding around the world.
